Congratulations to Unitemps who save the world with a Longden team event on a lovely sunny morning at Scarman House. The team of 50 staff from the dynamic recruitment company encountered “An element of surprise” as they successfully completed the team tasks to raise over £200 for Heart Research UK. Joanne Taylor from HRUK thanks the energetic teams for the donation, which will help to fund the Helping Little Hearts Campaign.

Keep on Truckin’. Cut costs, cut carbon, plant trees!

Thanks to Will Reeves and the lovely team at the Freight Transport Association, The Heart of England Forest was able to discover the fantastic, innovative actions our Logistics industry is doing to reduce carbon and cut costs. With all the money saved – they can then plant trees!

Carole Longden comments,

“When you think of the amount of CO2 these massive trucks emit it’s great to know that the logistics industry is putting time, money and brainpower into reducing emissions and cutting costs. The Heart of England Forest will benefit from these guys’ enlightened approach to CSR and tree planting.”

The Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme Awards event held at The Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon showcased companies such as Brit European, TNT, DHL and Bridgestone and what they are doing to help save the planet. Graham Lackey, the MD of Brit European was particularly informative, with his company driving forward carbon reduction through a new use of duel fuel technology.

It’s a good job these companies can see the wood for the trees as they plan employee engagement strategies to change behaviour, reduce the carbon footprint and then recognise and reward staff with a day out in The Heart of England Forest.

CSR goes painting at The Buzz with Lloyds TSB

Give and Gain in action at The Buzz with a lively group from Lloyds TSB who are giving The Enterprise Hub a much needed makeover. A lovely team have escaped the branch and put their painting skills to good use in Stratford upon Avon. Thanks to Mary Judge and the team at BITC for organising the day, which will mean that The Buzz Arts and Community Venue can offer a newly painted affordable, accessible venue for all sections of the community to enjoy. Thanks to the lovely Lloyds decorators for all their hard work!
