Do you Waggle? Announcing the first UK CSR and Sustainability Showcase – ‘Waggle in the Woods’
Monday 9th September will see the first ‘UK CSR and Sustainability Showcase – Building your CSR culture’ event taking place at The Heart of England Forest, Great Alne, outside Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire. Speakers include Paul Tanner from Tata Group, Nigel Holden, The Co-operative Group, Kate Cooper, The New Optimist Forum and Ian Huband from Pubstuff Ltd. Topics will include the employee engagement, environment and energy management, leadership and ethical supply chains and sustainable products. The one-day event will run from 10am – 4pm and comprises a full conference programme, interactive workshops, complementary exhibition and networking. Download the booking form here.
For those visiting the website – http://csrshowcase.com and booking onto the conference at £199 per ticket (excl.VAT), 5 trees will be planted for each person in the ‘Feel-good Wood’ within The Heart of England Forest. The event, organised by Longden Ltd and Camden 360 Communications has been designed to bring together existing CSR practitioners and SME’s and corporates who want to learn more about CSR as part of a strategy and share best practice. “From the exhibitors to the delegates to the speakers attending, everyone will acknowledge the value of attracting and retaining the best employees, operating in the safest and most environmentally efficient manner, supporting their local communities and causes and conducting business with customers and suppliers in the most ethical and sustainable way possible” said Annette Gann of Camden 360 Communications. “Not only is CSR a no brainer for savvy and responsible business owners, it provides both a strong strategic focus and tangible aspiration as we rebuild a healthy and sustainable economy post-recession.”
Billed as the CSR ‘Waggle in the Woods’ the waggle refers to a dance performed by bees to alert the hive to a source of nectar. “In this case, the ‘nectar’ is the shared learning and experience that the collective speakers and attendees uniquely hold. Corporate Social Responsibility has moved from a ‘nice to have’ concept to an essential business framework and strategy,” said Carole Longden of Longden Ltd. “The UK CSR and Sustainability Showcase is the ideal environment for business people from all areas of the economy to come together and gather the resources, knowledge and contacts that they need to start building an effective CSR culture for their business”.
To book a place, reserve a stand or to sponsor an aspect of the event, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org. A website, http://csrshowcase.com and a linked in group, ‘UK CSR Practitioners Network (Waggle Dancers)’ has also been set up so that participants can connect up with useful contacts in advance of the event.
The Heart of England Forest, which covers 2,000 acres and provides the venue for the CSR and Sustainability Showcase, was established by publisher, poet and Warwickshire landowner, Felix Dennis and is now a registered charity. Currently it is larger than 5 Hyde Parks! The mission of the forest is to plant and preserve a large native forest in the heart of England.
“The Forest is a fantastic environment for families and businesses that are helping to expand its reach by planting trees and preserving the natural habitat for hundreds of diverse insects and wildlife and also for the enjoyment of future generations. Choosing it as the ideal venue and placing it at the centre of our first UK CSR and Sustainability Showcase was a natural choice” said Carole Longden.
